Hey! This was my suggestion (this blog used to be called Books for Muse 😂)
1. Age gap
I love it, a lot of the time one half of the couple will be super grump, WHICH IS BASICALLY MY KINK OK. 8/10

2. Opposites Attract
There’s something about this dynamic that just gets to me. It’s kind of a vague trope, but I adore it. 10/10

3. Best friend’s brother or Brother’s best friend
These are different, but I lumped them together because I feel the same way about both. They’re a bit overdone, but you can find some really good ones. 6/10

4. Fake dating
Sometimes this trope can be a bit ridiculous. I mean, what situation is someone in that they need a fake partner? I still love it though. Most of the times it’s fun to read about and the situations they’re put in are hilarious. 9/10

5. Forbidden love
I really, really like this trope. *grins* This trope is usually filled with so much tension. You can practically feel the angst coming off every page. (Age gap should probably be a part of this, but I love it so much and it deserved it’s own category.) 9/10

6. Friends to lovers
This is one of my favorites because it forces the author to actually show us the couple’s relationship beyond the physical stuff. This is usually always devoid of insta-lust / insta-love and the relationship is usually more solid. 10/10

7. Enemies to lovers / hate to love
Ahh, this one is hard. I think authors tend to skirt the line between enemies to lovers and just being borderline abusive and hateful. But if they steer clear of that line then this tends to become ONE OF MY FAVORITE TROPES. 7/10

8. Second chance love
This one is usually always a hit or miss for me. Mostly because I usually think the reason they split apart is dumb, or could have easily been avoided if they communicated more. If the reason they broke up isn’t too annoying or unrealistic, I don’t mind this trope at all. 6/10

9. Single Parent
Book with these tropes have the tendency to be really sweet and romantic. I’m a fan. 8/10

10. Hurt Comfort
I need to be in the right mood to enjoy this trope. While heartbreaking, these can make you feel so hopeful as well. 7/10

PHEW! I agree with so many of these!! Fake dating is probably my favourite from here. I’m a little put off about the fact that I didn’t think to include opposites attract. I’m shaking my head at myself soo badly right now, haha!

Friends to lovers and hurt/comfort are two of my favorites, too. My husband and I were friends for two years before we ever dated, so I’m definitely partial to that first one.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

YES YES YES. That’s all I kept thinking during this list and then subsequently spotting titles I love. The age gap is one of my all time favs – especially when there’s a grumpy handsome male MC involved. I adore Lucy Parker but haven’t tried any of the other books you listed. I’ll definitely fix that! Have you read Luna and the Lie or the Birthday Girl (although this could be taken as a forbidden romance as well I suppose?). Happy reading!
