Lol yay!! 😀 We are definitely in the minority though 😂

I wasn’t really a fan of To All the Boys either. I actually thought the movie was better than the book.

I though the movie was cute and I thought the book was okay-ish, I just didn’t fall in love with like most reviews I saw.

I haven’t read some of these, but I do agree with Everything, Everything. I found it overhyped and I was bored for a large amount of the book (and movie!).

For me it was the ending that I hated. Ugh, I thought it was so lazy.

When I first started reading adult romances, this was one of the first ones I read and I remember being shocked at how much people loved it 😂

I ahve a few of these on my TBR. I enjoyed To All The Boy’s I’ve Loved Before, but I can see where you’re coming from. Here is my post-https://paigesofbook.blogspot.com/2019/06/top-ten-tuesday-unpopular-bookish.html

I definitely didn’t hate it! It just was kind of slow and nothing unique (but I do know I’m not the majority 😂)

I haven’t read any of Colleen Hoover books, but I feel like I wouldn’t relate to any of hers. I’ll definitely have to check it out eventually though and see. I didn’t end up finishing The Selection series (one book left) because I felt like it should have just been a trilogy, but I still liked it. I just started Illuminae though but I can see how not everyone likes it. Nice post!

Illuminae had the potential but for me I couldn’t get past how it was written. 🤷

It may be good to listen to it if it had potential for you!

I actually agree with you on how underwhelming I found a few of these, they definitely didn’t live up to the hype.

Yep! It’s that I hated most of these books, they just don’t live up to their rating and hype in my eyes 🙂

How often do you read really popular books that just don’t work for you?

I always try to add in books that aren’t super well known or books that aren’t new releases. But I actually don’t have many books that I didn’t like, so I’m happy to say it’s not often 😀

I was really disappointed by November 9, too. I’ve enjoyed a lot of Colleen Hoover books, but that one really let me down.
Also forgot I’d even read Vain until I saw this post but oh boy did I hate that book!!

I think my fave of hers is Maybe Someday? And November 9 sounded like something I’d like, but pretty early on I realized I was very wrong 😂😂

Heir of Fire is my favourite Throne of Glass book, but it’s not for everyone, a lot of people love the next book in that series, Queen of Shadows and that’s my least favourite.

Wow that’s funny. I actually liked the series before it had this total shift in my eyes. Book 1 & 2 are SO different than the rest of the series and those are the ones I liked 😂

I mean that’s fair, I think it’s quite common in the fandom that there are those who liked the series more pre-Aelin & those who liked it more post-Aelin.

I haven’t read any of these, and I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy them. I think I’d like to read TATBILBF though. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

I think I finished, but I just thought it was kind of a pointless book 😂 which sucked cause I do sort of like The Bachelor, but I guess it didn’t translate well.

I really wasn’t a fan of The Selection. It was okay, but I didn’t get the hype.

I do really like “The Selection” for a “guilty pleasure” read, which to me is something I can read without having to exercise brain power. Also, adore TATBILB, and I like Nicola’s more than I thought. However I doubt I’d like the “Illuminae” series. They just don’t sound like “me reads.”

Illuminae was definitely out of my comfort zone as I’m not a huge sci-fi reader. But it sounded unique so I thought I’d give it a try. Ultimately, I thought it was bit boring.

I adore the Illuminae Series but got bored almost instantly with The Selection. It ended up being a DNF – of course I had bought the whole series lol
