This is a short and fun tag. It was originally created by Paperfury, who got inspiration from @book_junkee on Instagram. It’s a pretty simple tag, I’m just going to have two options and pick which one I’d rather read for the rest of my life.
This is probably one of the toughest questions. They both have their merits and my all-time favorite books is a mix of standalones and series. I think I’m going to pick… series! But just barely.
Magic earned! I think this is more rare than magic born but there’s just something about a character fighting for what they want.
Friends to lovers, oh my god. Here’s the thing, contemporary and romance novels do the enemies-to-lovers trope so dirty. Friends-to-lovers is the more wholesome and and overall better trope. Sorry not sorry.
Hilarious banter! I don’t need emotional ruin in my fiction when I can get that in real life. Lmao just kidding, this is a tough choice, but hilarious banter just makes me so happy!
This is not hard at all. Can we as a society get rid of insta love? Also, I’ve never understood the absolute hatred people have for love triangles. I’d rather have that than read about someone making eye contact with someone and knowing they’ll spend the rest of their lives together. I also fully believe you can have feelings for two people at once, love triangle for a win!
Neither option is great, but I’d rather have the keyboard smash. When everyone has a name that starts with the same letter, it makes it 100% more difficult for me to follow. Every time I read a book where all the siblings have a J-name or M-name or whatever, it’s all downhill from there.
Yikes. These are both so overly done usually not very well. I think I’d rather have… dead parents *hides* It’s just when I see “mean” parents I think abusive.
These are both awful. But it’s still kind of an easy choice. I hateeee when a character constantly thinks about how plain they are, or they don’t deserve romantic attention. *sigh* While I’m not jumping for joy at characters being physically flawless, at least I don’t have to listen to them refer to themselves as having “plain brown eyes” or “boring brown hair”.
Typography! I’m not the biggest fan of faces on the cover. Though I will say they’re getting a bit better as time passes. But there’s just something about typography!
Villain turning a little good! This is a basically an anti-hero which are my favorite. 🙂
