VILLAINS. We all love them, love to hate them, whatever. So this week I’m gonna tell you guys my favorite villains/anti-heroes of all time.
![]() Vicious (Vicious #1) by V.E. Schwab (My review) |
![]() Shadow and Bone (The Grisha #1) by Leigh Bardugo |
1. This is a book about supervillains, aka one of my favorite books ever. I love every single character. Dying to get my hands on a sequel!
2. I loved The Darkling in Shadow and Bone, even if he was supposed to be the “bad guy”. The fact that he serves as a love interest to the protagonist was something I really enjoyed. He’s dangerous, complex, and arrogant, god even his name is sexy.
![]() The Diviners (The Diviners #1) by Libba Bray |
![]() The Rose Society (The Young Elites #2) by Marie Lu (My review) |
3. Okay, the villain in this book IS SO CREEPY I LOVE IT. He is truly terrifying, I remember having trouble sleeping that night because of course I started this at like 9 pm.
4. I find it very disturbing that I love Adelina as much as I do. She is vicitmized, hell bent on her vengeance, and jealous. I LOVE HER.
![]() The Wrath & the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn #1) by Renee Ahdieh (My review) |
![]() City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4) by Cassandra Clare |
5. Khalid murders brides after their wedding nights. So…
6. Sebastian Morgenstern is so fucked up. He has got to be one of the most scary villains in YA. I mean, he’s got demon blood running in his veins and he tried to molest his sister. That has GOT to be messed up.
![]() Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter #7) by J.K. Rowling |
![]() The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle #2) by Maggie Stiefvater (My review) |
7. I mean..?? It’s Lord Voldemort.
8. The Grey Man: I remember finding him to be intriguing yet disturbing. I was dissapointed how little he showed up in The Raven King though.
![]() Coraline by Neil Gaiman |
![]() The Child Thief by Brom |
9. The whole atmosphere of this book is creepy. Don’t even get me started on The Other Mother.
10. There were no heroes in this book, which is one of the reasons why I loved it so much. I think we can all agree villains/anti-heroes are more fun to read about. Am I right?
I like your pick for #5. I want to get to the Wrath of the Dawn book but haven’t yet.

I’m so sad I forgot about The Diviners. That was SUCH a creepy book! Have you read her Gemma Doyle series because that was another really creepy villain? Great list!!

I love your list! I guess Voldemort is going to be appearing on a lot of lists this week! He made mine too.
Sebastian Morgenstein is a hard one, because I felt so much sympathy for him in the final book that it kind of undid all the hate that I had for him in the previous books! Haha
I started reading The Young Elites and finished book 1 and found it really strange reading from Adelina, as a villian, and actually haven’t continued with the trilogy yet because I’m not sure if I like it? Maybe I’ll give it another shot.
Great list 🙂

Thanks! You’re definitely not alone on Adelina. I love her but a lot of people have mixed reactions to her. 🙂

You have a very good list, I need to get to reading some of these books ASAP! The Darkling was the only one we shared on our lists but I had to include him, he is soooo evil but also handsome it’s confusing my heart and brain haha
